Please Have Wonderful Holidays and a Very Happy New Year

It has been a very successful year at Stubblefield Salvage and Recycling, LLC in Walla Walla, Washington. Our dad and mom, Emory and Margurite Stubblefield, would be proud to see the many positive changes.

The scrap yard has been refocused to become a metal processing center and has grown from processing about 50 tons of iron each month to nearly 1,000 ton of iron every month.  That makes us one of the largest regional contributors to the green cleanup program in our area and has made it possible for us to provide jobs for about twenty more local families.

We are grateful to the many local farmers and business owners who have contributed to the changes at our location.  We thank Walla Walla County Code Enforcement Officer, Mary Ann Hubbard who has guided us through many tough and challenging land and structural issues.  Walla Walla County planning who made it possible for us to access our new entrance at 980 NE Myra Road --thank you, Barbara.  The Walla Walla City Water Department provided us with emergency pottable water when our father became ill and later sold surplus water meters to our business.  Goodwill Industries and St. Vincent DePaul have supported us with sales of their surplus items.

There are so many wonderful people to thank, including student volunteers from Whitman University and Dr. Delbert Hutcheson and Mike Denny of Walla Walla County Conservation who teamed up to help preserve a nature strip along the south side of Mill Creek --in fact, Mr. Denny will be back again this year to add more trees to this project.  Then there are our church friends- Charles and Grace Phillips, the Hobbs Family, the Filan Family, the Smithers, the Fullers and all their extended families who have upheld us in prayer and always brought way too much to eat as you can tell as I begin to look more like a top than an hour glass.

Of course, I cannot forget our faithful buyers who have often advanced us funds when times were tough; also, our nearly 600 customers who come from all walks of life and our most treasured present and past employees, who are more like family than employees --what would we ever do without you! Dare I say we love you.

The relationships that make our lives richer and fuller and our days brighter are countless.  I'm sure to forget some of the most special and most helpful people of 2009.  Suffice it to say you are all 'Grammy' winners in our book.  Karri at our bank and her friendly staff who care for us and our employees . . . by the way, Lou is still waiting for his turkey . . . We thank the local court system with all its warts and the Walla Walla County Sheriff's Office for their efforts to keep us safe.  To Hospice and the local hospitality places we occasionally escape to that put up with our nonsense and the community of Walla Walla, Milton-Freewater, Touchet, Dayton and all those in between and beyond, we thank you.

To my two loving sisters, Lily and Lenora, their families and my most caring and wonderful partner, who have all sacrificed so much to help us make it through one of the most difficult, yet most sucessful years of our lives, I can only say 'Thank You' from the bottom of my heart and may God bless each of you in very special and personal ways.

P.S. JoAnn, Jeff, Doug and Todd, I know Aaron is looking down and is pleased with your happiness!
