Emory Stubblefield: Running his business, July 2008November 12, 2008 Walla Walla, WA –The Emory Stubblefield Co, located at 980 NE Myra Road in Walla Walla has changed its name and business structure. The new structure includes Emory and his three surviving children, Lily Shoop, Lenora Thompson and Al Stubblefield.
On September 17, 2008 Emory Stubblefield, grandfather of the scrap and recycling business in the Walla Walla Valley, formed Stubblefield Salvage and Recycling, LLC. This effectively changed the name and structure of his 60 year-old recycling business from Emory Stubblefield Co to Stubblefield Salvage and Recycling, LLC.
Lily Shoop, CEO, Registered Agent, and daughter of Emory Stubblefield, says, “The new business structure adds management strength and an infusion of fresh ideas for the future of the company. We have already taken major steps to make the company a proactive entity of our local community. Our team is collaborating with local, county, state and federal agencies to bring the business into full compliance with all scrap metal processing and environmental regulations.”
The scrap metal and recycling center reopened on Dad's birthday, December 3, 2008, it offers top prices for iron, iron alloys and nonferrous metals. The company continues to be an aggressive competitor in purchasing ferrous and nonferrous metals, such as copper, aluminum, brass, stainless steel and zinc.
Note: Emory N. Stubblefield passed away on October 3, 2008 at age 94. Emory opened his first scrap and recycling business at age 16 in Ellensburg, Washington in 1929. He later moved his operations to Walla Walla in 1944.
