Scrap collectors who are willing to take an extra few minutes with an old vehicle motor block will earn substantially more when taking their product to the dealer.

The rules are simple and have change a little in the scrap collector's favor. It is no longer necessary to remove the pistons from the motor block.

Do the following to earn up to one third (1/3) more for your old motor blocks.

HMS #1 Iron – Grade I: No.1 HMS (2 foot) shall consist of clean iron & steel with a minimum thickness of 1/4", and a maximum size of 24"x18", material handling compatible to feed a furnace charge box. This grade may include ISRI code 201.

HMS #1 Iron – Grade II: No.1 HMS shall consist of clean iron & steel with a minimum thickness of 1/4", and a maximum size of 60"x24", material handling compatible to feed a furnace charge box.
